I am passionate about creating beautiful, comfortable spaces that renew and inspire our everyday lives.
Hi, I’m Renee Byler
I live in Columbus Ohio with my five kids, two cats, one bunny, and my best friend and husband Joe. As a family, we love city life and all the amenities it offers us from beautiful parks, local food, the best coffee shops, and our favorite brewery one block from our home. When I have free time, you will find me and the family, hiking in one of the many metro and state parks of Ohio, tent camping anywhere and everywhere, hosting meals at our home with friends and neighbors, or discovering great new restaurants in our city.
Finding and curating beauty has always been a delight of mine. From creating beautiful bouquets of wildflowers, to baking delicious pastries, to setting a beautiful table-scape for a family feast, bringing color into a room, or to designing one of a kind cave home—this is where I thrive! I've become passionate about helping others transform their ordinary or unique rooms into beautiful and functional (mom of 5 kids and 3 pets talking here) spaces for their families and guests to enjoy!
Good design is beautiful and functional.
Our homes are not magazine covers or museums. Nobody wants a fussy home where you are scared to let your kids play, your dog roam, or enjoy a glass of red wine on the sofa. As a mom of five kids, I know how important it is to not only have lovely and elegant spaces that please the eye, but also spaces that meet the many demands of our families and personal needs. Function and beauty go hand in hand! I also believe that our spaces should inspire us and be a place that invites us to rest. Personally, nature inspires me! After some time wandering in the woods or listening to an ocean roar, I am renewed and ready to face the everyday demands of life. I love to use elements of nature when designing interior spaces for this very reason.
Why “burrow”?
A burrow is a beautiful picture of what our homes and indoor spaces should be. A place of safety, a place where we can find rest and renewal, a place to recharge before going back out into the big wild world. We all need a burrow. We all need spaces that foster life, joy, and rest.
